Ace-High<\/strong>: Describes a poker hand whose highest card is an ace; no pair or anything better.<\/p>\n

Aces Full<\/strong>: A full house with 3 aces and another pair.<\/p>\n

Boat<\/strong>:A video poker slang term for a full house.<\/p>\n

Bullet<\/strong>: Slang for an ace.<\/p>\n

Bust<\/strong>: A hand that has nothing and is therefore not worth anything, even after changing cards.<\/p>\n

Court Card<\/strong>:\u00a0 Describes face cards (i.e.kings, queens, and jacks).<\/p>\n

Cowboy<\/strong>:\u00a0 Slang for a king.<\/p>\n

Credit<\/strong>: Credits are virtual money, with which you play on your video poker machines. Credits can be worth any amount of money, but credit value may change between video poker machines.<\/p>\n

Deuce<\/strong>: A two.<\/p>\n

Draw Poker<\/strong>:\u00a0 A poker game wherein you receive five cards, then may discard one or more of them to receive new cards in their place. Practically all video poker games are draw poker varieties of some sort.<\/p>\n

Face Card<\/strong>:\u00a0 A king, queen or jack.<\/p>\n

Fill Up<\/strong>:\u00a0 Building a full house.<\/p>\n

Fishhooks<\/strong>:\u00a0 Slang for jacks.<\/p>\n

Flat Top<\/strong>: Video poker machines that provide set jackpot payouts.<\/p>\n

Flush<\/strong>: Five cards of the same suit not in sequence. For example: 3, 6, 7, 10, and jack of spades.<\/p>\n

Four-Flush<\/strong>: A four-flush are four cards of the same suit. A fifth card of the same suit would result in a flush.<\/p>\n

Four Of A Kind<\/strong>: Four cards of the same rank.<\/p>\n

Full House<\/strong>: Three cards of one value and two of another.<\/p>\n

Full Pay Machine<\/strong>: Describes the machine with the highest payback table, also known as a “9\/6” machine, because those video poker machines pay nine credits for a full house and six credits for a flush, when playing Jacks or Better video poker.<\/p>\n

Garbage Hand<\/strong>:\u00a0 Worthless hand.<\/p>\n

Hand<\/strong>:\u00a0 Describes the five cards you have been dealt.<\/p>\n

High Card<\/strong>: The hand card with the highest value.<\/p>\n

High Pair<\/strong>: Any pair that will pay off, most commonly a pair of jacks or better.<\/p>\n

Inside Straight<\/strong>:\u00a0 An inside straight are four cards of a straight, missing an inside card. For example: 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. This hand requires a 6 in order to complete the straight.<\/p>\n

Jacks Or Better video poker<\/strong>: A popular variety of video poker. You must have at least a pair of jacks or higher to achieve a payoff.<\/p>\n

Joker<\/strong>:\u00a0 A special fifty-third card in a deck, used as a wild card.<\/p>\n

Kicke<\/strong>r<\/strong>: The highest unmatched card in a hand.<\/p>\n

Knave<\/strong>: Slang for a jack.<\/p>\n

Odds<\/strong>:\u00a0 Your odds describe your chances of winning and losing.<\/p>\n

One-Gap<\/strong>: The same as an inside straight.<\/p>\n

Outside Straight<\/strong>:\u00a0 Describes 4 cards of consecutive values that could become a straight, if you draw a card that fits to either end of the sequence.<\/p>\n

Paint Card<\/strong>: A king, queen or jack.<\/p>\n

Pair<\/strong>: Two cards of the same rank.<\/p>\n

Pat Hand<\/strong>: A starting hand good enough that you can hold all 5 cards and discard none.<\/p>\n

Payoff Schedule<\/strong>: Describes a list or chart showing the winning combinations for a specific video poker machine and the payback for each combination.<\/p>\n

Picture Cards<\/strong>: King, queen and jack.<\/p>\n

Pocket Rockets<\/strong>:\u00a0 A pair of aces.<\/p>\n

Power Poker<\/strong>:\u00a0 A version of video poker in which you are able to play several hands at once.<\/p>\n

Progressive Video Poker<\/strong>:\u00a0 Similar to an\u00a0online slots<\/a>\u00a0progressive, this is a video poker machine constantly building a jackpot that is paid out only for a specific combination of cards.<\/p>\n

Rainbow<\/strong>: Three or four cards of different suits.<\/p>\n

Rank<\/strong>:\u00a0 The value of a card.<\/p>\n

Run<\/strong>:\u00a0 Slang for a straight.<\/p>\n

Set<\/strong>: Slang for three of a kind.<\/p>\n

Straight<\/strong>:\u00a0 Any five cards in sequence but not of the same suit.<\/p>\n

Straight Flush<\/strong>: A straight flush describes a combination of any five consecutive cards of the same suit.<\/p>\n

Suited<\/strong>:\u00a0 All cards are of the same suit.<\/p>\n

Three Flush<\/strong>:\u00a0 Three cards of the same suit.<\/p>\n

Three Of A Kind<\/strong>:\u00a0 Three cards of the same rank.<\/p>\n

Trey<\/strong>:\u00a0 A three.<\/p>\n

Two Flush<\/strong>: Two cards of the same suit.<\/p>\n

Two Pai<\/strong>r<\/strong>: Two cards of one rank and two cards of a different rank, plus a kicker.<\/p>\n

Video Poker Royal Flush<\/strong>:\u00a0 A ten, jack, queen, king, and ace, all of the same suit. Video poker royal flush is the highest ranking hand in video poker.<\/p>\n

Wild Card<\/strong>:\u00a0 A wild card may substitute for any other card in the deck.<\/p>\n
